We are seeking a warm, energetic and innovative early childhood educator to join our Club Creative Aftercare program (2:30-6:30pm; ages 2-5) at PlayArts Creative Preschool (Our main location).
Salary/Hourly Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time, 20 hrs/week
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist Lead Teacher with prepping materials for classroom lessons & activities
Support students’ growth & development (physical, cognitive, social/emotional)
Ensure a safe environment for all children
Collaborate with teachers to plan lessons for Sensory Time and Gym Class
Assist with potty training duties for children ages 2.5-3 yrs as necessary
Maintain consistent communication with teachers and supervisors through team-wide platforms (ie. slack, email, etc.)
Maintain consistent communication with parents (in-person and digitally)
Attend weekly team meetings, Professional Development days, and some additional community meetings scheduled outside school hours
Maintain a clean and orderly classroom and playspace
Assist with cleaning, sanitizing and closing duties of the facility
Role Requirements:
Minimum HS diploma or GED; College degree preferred, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Misic, Theater or Art preferred, Bachelor in Art History preferred
1-2 years classroom experience, depending on degree
Experience in Dance or Art Instruction in an early childhood setting preferred
Arts experience in one or two areas preferred but not required
Must have PA State Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry), and FBI Clearance (Fingerprinting) prior to start
Must have Building Blocks (Health & Safety), Mandated Reporter (Child Abuse), and Fire Safety training prior to start
Pediatric 1st Aid & CPR training required within 90 days of start date
Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs
Potty Training (and diaper changing) experience preferred

PlayArts is seeking qualified Philadelphia educators and education students to join our substitute teacher list.
Salary Range: $20 - $25 / hour
Schedule: Flexible and/or last-minute subbing based on staffing needs and individual availability
PlayArts Creative Preschool (ages 2.5-5yrs):
The Substitute Teacher (Group Supervisor & Assistant Group Supervisor) role is a part-time and occasional year-round position.
PlayLoud AfterSchool (K-5th grade):
Candidates must be patient, energetic, flexible, and have experience working with elementary school-age children. Teachers must demonstrate an eagerness and ability to take on leadership roles. Teachers are required to help set up rooms, supervise and engage in outdoor play with the children, and help facilitate after school arts activities in the area of their expertise.
Job Duties:
Classroom management skills - ensuring a safe environment for children
Communicating and collaborating with other PlayArts teachers and director/supervisor
Following procedures and adhere to lesson goals
Overseeing students outside of the classroom as well as hallways, bathrooms etc.
Maintaining a clean and orderly classroom and playspace
Overseeing the normal classroom rhythms and activities
Compiling a report for the teacher for when they return (optional)
Co-Lead preschool in the classroom, PlaySpace, and off-site locations
Providing quality care and supervision for the children

All costs for clearances and trainings will be reimbursed after 90 days of employment
Arts or Education degrees preferred. Without an education-related degree, the following credits and experience is required:
(1) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
(2) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described in § 3270.31(c) (relating to age and training).
(3) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
(4) A high school diploma or a general education development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum described in § 3270.31(c).
(5) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years experience with children (babysitting, camp counseling) or teaching experience is required.

PlayArts is seeking teacher candidates to start in August 2024 in our school-age PlayLoud AfterSchool program. Our program takes places offsite in 3 locations in Fishtown: Adaire Elementary, Hackett Elementary, and Moffet Elementary.
Salary Range: $19 - $22 / hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30-6:15pm, and Monday 1:30-2:30pm
Average hours per week = 18-22
*First week of professional development and training August 18-22*
Job Duties:
Co-teach Kinder-5th grade students during snack, playground, and gym time
Leach teach in classrooms and arts lessons
Plan, write, and edit arts lesson plans in your area of interest for various ages
Support student behaviors, communicate with families, and collaborate with school personnel
Role Requirements:
Candidates with backgrounds in General Education or Arts Education (Music, Theater, Movement, Writing) are strongly preferred!
BA preferred, but not required with appropriate experience
Music, Theater, Dance, Visual Arts, STEM, or Education background preferred. However, candidates with other arts or education experience are welcome to apply.

PlayArts is seeking an experienced and inspiring Center Director for our play-based, arts immersion preschool, PlayArts Creative. This is a full time, 12 month position.
Role Description: The Preschool Director will be responsible for daily operations, curriculum implementation and development, staff management, parent communication, and budgeting. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children.
Reports to: Director of Operations
Salary Range: $58,000 - $61,000 based on education and experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Job Duties:
Supervise, support and provide resources for a team of talented and dedicated Early Childhood teachers and arts instructors
Establish healthy, positive relationships with students and families through regular and consistent communication, parent meetings and family fun events
Collaborate and meet regularly with administrative team
Assist in developing and maintaining an annual program budget
Process applications and handle admission and enrollment paperwork, deposits and tuition payments for incoming students
Provide monthly info sessions for prospective families
Handle all necessary paperwork and related tasks to ensure compliance with OCDEL and PA State licensing requirements
Plan and implement high quality professional development (PD) for staff
Lead the center in achieving NAEYC and Keystone STARS accreditation within two to three years
Collaborate with administrative team to establish goals and develop programs and practices that align with PlayArts' Diversity and Inclusion plan
Teach and offer assistance in classrooms as needed
Assist staff in maintaining a clean and orderly facility
Maintain a joyful work environment and positive culture with staff
Role Qualifications:
Experience with The Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies
Experience maintaining state compliance and preparing for annual OCDEL licensing inspection
Manage invoices in Quickbooks
Experience in child development and early childhood education
Knowledge of kindergarten readiness and early childhood education standards
Strong budgeting and financial management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and manage a team
Familiarity with connecting families to Early Intervention resources
Experience facilitating professional development
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Experience relating to the Arts
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $58,000 - $61,000 based on education and experience
Two (2) weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) plus some additional paid holidays and school
breaks (determined by the annual school calendar)
